Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has said the party hopes that the DG ISI will keep his word, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a press conference, ISI DG said that he will stay away from politics.

Rana Sana said: ‘We believe in his statement and hope he will remain apolitical.’

He said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will participate in the election with full preparation.

Rana Sanaullah said the PML-N vice chairman Maryam Nawaz will reach Pakistan on Jan 27. “Nawaz Sharif will also be in Pakistan soon and it is hoped that he will lead the Punjab and KPK elections.”

The federal minister said Mian Nawaz Sharif not only had a consultation in London but also in Pakistan about the preparations for the elections.

To a question, he said that the PML-N Parliamentary Board will file qualified persons after taking applications from people for election tickets.

To another question, Rana Sanaullah expressed hope that Nawaz Sharif himself will come to Pakistan and preside over the parliamentary board.

To yet another query, he said: ‘The party leadership will decide whether I will stay in the Federation or Punjab.’

Rana said that he had suggested to the party that some senior leaders including himself resign and participate in the election campaign with Nawaz Sharif.

“If we had not taken this government, Pakistan would have defaulted,” he recalled.
