KEMU student lands at Mayo Hospital after failed suicide attempt
A student of the King Edward Medical University (KEMU) attempted suicide by consuming sleeping pills at a university hostel, officials said on Wednesday.
According to the King Edward administration, the student was immediately shifted to the emergency department of Mayo Hospital for medical treatment. Hospital sources confirmed that the student’s condition was now out of danger.
University officials said the incident occurred inside the King Edward Medical University hostel. They added that, in addition to medical care, the student was being provided psychological rehabilitation and counseling.
Further details about the incident were not disclosed, and the administration said the matter was being handled in accordance with university protocols.
