PM’s focal person for polio visits Balochistan to review eradication efforts

The Prime Minister’s focal person for polio eradication, Ayesha Raza Farooq Wednesday held a meeting with the Chief Minister of Balochistan to review the province’s polio situation and ongoing eradication efforts, 24NewsHD TV reported. 

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the current polio landscape in Balochistan, including vaccination coverage, operational challenges, and measures being implemented to prevent the spread of the virus.

Earlier, she paid a visit to Quetta, where she held a meeting with provincial authorities at the Balochistan Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) to review the polio situation and preparedness for upcoming vaccination campaigns.

According to the National Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), Ayesha Raza Farooq was briefed on the current polio situation in Balochistan as well as preparations for the next polio vaccination drive.

The meeting was also attended by National Coordinator Muhammad Anwar-ul-Haq, alongside senior provincial health and EOC officials.

Ayesha Raza Farooq expressed satisfaction over the progress made so far in polio eradication efforts and appreciated the performance of provincial teams.

She assured EOC officials of full operational support from the federal government to ensure the successful implementation of future campaigns.
