Imran Khan moves Islamabad High Court over lack of jail facilities

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC), filing a petition against the lack of proper facilities provided to him during his incarceration, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Monday.

The plea, filed through lawyers Zaheer Abbas, Usman Gul, and Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry, highlights what the legal team describes as a continued denial of basic rights and essential facilities within the prison environment.

The petition names the Interior Secretary, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Secretary Home Department Punjab, and the Inspector General (IG) Prisons as respondents.

According to the plea, the former prime minister is being denied facilities he is legally entitled to, and the current conditions are not in line with jail rules or human rights obligations. The petition seeks court intervention to direct the concerned authorities to ensure adequate living conditions, communication rights, and medical facilities for Imran Khan.

The case is expected to be heard in the coming days, as legal battles surrounding the PTI founder continue on multiple fronts.
