Imran Khan unable to offer Eid prayers with inmates at Adiala jail

Former prime minister Imran Khan was unable to offer Eid-ul-Fitr prayers with other inmates at Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail on Saturday due to security restrictions, 24NewsHD TV reported.

According to jail sources, ordinary prisoners offered Eid prayers at the prison’s central mosque and imambargah, while Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), remained inside his cell during prayer time because of security-related constraints.

The sources said Khan was expected to speak with his children by telephone later in the day, while his wife, Bushra Bibi, was also likely to meet him.

There was no immediate official statement from prison authorities regarding the reported restrictions or the expected contacts.

Eid-ul-Fitr is being observed across Pakistan with religious fervour, with special prayers, family gatherings and festive meals marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
