Punjab Minister Industries Commerce & Investment Mian Aslam Iqbal on Thursday said that Punjab government has extended markets timing till 10 pm to facilitate the shoppers.

Aslam Iqbal requested the traders to make sure implementation of the SOPs made by the provincial government to stop the further spread of coronavirus.

He said the decision was taken keeping in view the rush in the markets.

As the Eid approaches the people have paced up their shopping in the markets after the Supreme Court of Pakistan allowed the opening of shopping malls and smaller shops round the clock.

However, the authorities wanted to ensure that the people follow the practice of physical distancing and wear masks and constantly reminding the public to adhere to health protocols.

It is pertinent to note that all small shops in Punjab will remain open for four days a week as Punjab government notified and already extended partial lockdown till May 31.

According to the notification, the fruit, vegetable markets and courier services will remain open for entire week.

Marriage halls, marquees, public transport, concerts and sports activities will be banned till May 31.
