Govt decides to increase electricity price by Rs1.72 per unit

Federal Government Friday decided to increase electricity price by Rs1.72 per unit, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Federal Cabinet of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government approved new rates of electricity after considering the summery through a circular.
As per the decision, the electricity would be increased in three quarterly adjustments and the new price would be implemented from October 2021.
Prime Minister Imran Khan’s cabinet increased the price of electricity by 82 paisa per unit in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2020.
The cabinet also approved to increase the price of electricity by 90 paisa per unit in the first quarter and second quarter adjustments.
