Pakistani ambassador visits SpaceX headquarters to explore tech cooperation and Starlink collaboration

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, visited the headquarters of the leading American aerospace and technology giant SpaceX in Los Angeles, where discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in space technology, satellite internet, and digital infrastructure.

According to a statement from the Pakistani Embassy in Washington, Ambassador Sheikh was accompanied by Pakistan’s Consul General in Los Angeles Asim Ali Khan and other senior officials from the consulate during the visit.

The delegation received detailed briefings from SpaceX executives on the company’s innovations in satellite communication and aerospace technologies, with particular emphasis on the Starlink satellite internet project.

Senior representatives from Starlink, including the Vice President of Global Business Operations and the Director of Global Business Development, warmly welcomed the Pakistani delegation and outlined how SpaceX’s low-Earth orbit satellite infrastructure could support Pakistan’s digital transformation goals.

The discussions focused on enhancing broadband access in Pakistan, especially in remote and underserved areas, using Starlink’s capabilities to bridge the digital divide. Ambassador Sheikh emphasised the importance of leveraging satellite technology to strengthen national connectivity and improve access to internet services in far-flung regions.

The visit was part of the Ambassador's broader engagement in California aimed at building strategic international partnerships and expanding technical and economic ties between Pakistan and the United States, particularly in the private tech sector.

Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to innovation-driven development and appreciated the growing collaboration between Pakistani institutions and global technology leaders like SpaceX. He expressed optimism that the evolving ties would lead to practical cooperation in commercial innovation, space technology, and digital infrastructure.
