CM Maryam says wheat is available in abundance in Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that wheat is available in abundance in Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

Chairing a high-level meeting on wheat, agriculture, food safety and consumer protection Maryam Nawaz said that AI-based advanced live dashboard to be set up in Punjab to secure every grain of wheat.

She said live dashboard to play key role in wheat demand, supply, monitoring and price control for foolproof food policymaking.

Abundant wheat stocks in Punjab will be monitored day-to-day through live dashboard, Maryam Nawaz said.

Maryam Nawaz said licensed aggregators and stockers in Punjab have been allowed to legally keep wheat.

Now any licensed aggregator and stocker across Punjab can legally keep wheat stock, Maryam Nawaz added.

She said declaration of wheat stock made mandatory for all licensed aggregators and stockers.

Strict legal action will be taken against those who do not declare wheat stock within 2 weeks under the Anti-Hoarding Act, Maryam Nawaz directed.

Government hinted at incentives for aggregators who honestly declare wheat stock.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif instructed to provide all possible facilities and ease of business to farmers, aggregators, millers and big stockers.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also ordered complete overhauling and revamping of the food department as per the requirements of modern governance.

Maryam Nawaz strongly emphasized on keeping the prices of bread and naan under control across the province and providing cheap flour to the public.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed to make the latest advanced live dashboard functional soon to protect each grain of wheat.

The Chief Minister was briefed that Punjab recorded excellent wheat production of over 22 million metric tons this year.

Second-to-second digital monitoring of wheat supply chain and stocks in Punjab will be done through the live dashboard.
