PPP Punjab office-bearers to meet Asif Zardari in Islamabad today
Just like other political parties are in election mode, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), too, is preparing for the general elections which are now only two and a half months away, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Sources told 24News that on the instructions of former president Asif Ali Zardari and Faryal Talpur, all divisional presidents as well as general secretaries of the PPP Punjab will meet them in Islamabad today in the evening.
Rana Farooq Saeed, Hassan Murtaza, Shehzad Saeed Cheema, Samina Ghurki, Aslam Gill, Nargis Khan and Sonia Khan have left for Islamabad.
Sources disclosed that the PPP office-bearers will present to the party’s high command the list of candidates who could win elections for the party.
Similarly, they revealed that Zardari and Faryal will also be informed of the performance of the PPP’s Punjab chapter.
Likewise, they added, suggestions will also be given at the meeting for holding the party’s convention in Punjab.
On the other hand, the PPP has sought applications for filling the vacant seats of secretary information as well as deputy secretary information in all cities of central Punjab until November 30.
In this connection, the party’s senior leadership has directed Information Secretary central Punjab Shahzad Saeed Cheema to fill these vacancies.
Previously, too, PPP had sought applications for these posts until October 31.
Saeed Ghani asks MQM-P to mind its language
Also on Tuesday, PPP Sindh leader Saeed Ghani, while addressing a press conference in Karachi, asked the MQM-P to stop threatening and intimidating the party.
“PPP does not dance on others’ drumbeat,” he said, adding, “Contrary to that, you are the puppets.”
Ghani, on the occasion, also condoled the death of MQM-P leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.
