Ruling out the possibility of an early election, Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said the election will be held on time, the 24NewsHD Channel reported on Tuesday.

Rejecting any chance of premature elections, Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry said the general elections are not being held ahead of time, the 24News HD Channel reported on Tuesday.

Briefing the media after a cabinet meeting, he confirmed that the general elections would commence after conducting a technology-based national census in the first phase, constituency delimitations in the second and the electoral reforms in the third phase.

Fawad said that the opposition had been asked to come and talk on the matter for conducting free, fair and transparent general elections in future.

The information minister confirming not to lift the ban on TikTok in Pakistan said that new laws are being made about social media.

Quoting sources, the 24News reported that the cabinet also took up a string of issues including electronic voting machines (EVMs) and chief election commissioner.

The meeting also discussed the notices issued by the chief election commissioner and decided to act aggressively on these issues.
