April 22, 2020 12:07 PM

The Sindh High Court (SHC) Circuit Bench Sukkur on Wednesday rejected the bail pleas of PPP senior leader Khursheed Shah and his son MPA Farrukh Shah in an assets-beyond-means reference.

However, a two-member bench granted bail to 18 others who are nominated as accomplices by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). Earlier, the SHC had reserved its judgment on the matter last week.

Khursheed and others are facing trial after the Bureau filed a reference, accusing him of amassing assets worth Rs1.23 billion.

The NAB had arrested Khursheed last year on September 18 for investigating the assets beyond means case and later filed a corruption reference.

The PPP leader was being treated at the NICVD in Sukkur due to cardiac complaint for the past seven months.
