Imran directs Elahi to expedite rescue and relief op in flood-hit areas

Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and former federal minister Monis Elahi Monday called on former Prime Minister Imran Khan at latter’s residence Bani Gala, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The meeting was held to discuss the current political situation of Pakistan and social welfare programs in Punjab.
Punjab CM also congratulated Khan over Karachi NA-245 by-election victory amid growing tension between opposition and government.
They had a discussion on the ongoing flood situation in South Punjab and rescue and relief operations carried by Punjab government for flood victims/affectees.
PTI chairman Imran Khan directed Elahi to expedite the rescue operations and provide every possible relief to flood affected people.
Elahi apprised former prime minister regarding rescue and relief operations carried by Punjab government for flood victims/affectees.
Elahi said that government needed to formulate long term planning to avoid such calamities and flooding in stream in future.
Elahi said he had directed the concerned departments to expedite the relief process and provide food, medicines and fodder for cattle to the victims.
He told Khan that he himself is assisting in the relief process and is eye to eye with concerned secretaries of South Punjab.
Imran Khan appreciated Elahi and his team for their timely steps/efforts to combat flood hit areas.
