NADRA to issue CNICs sans birth certificates 

In a bid to encourage citizens to get their Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs), the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a facility to issue CNICs to the people without the presentation of a birth certificate, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

For registration for the first time, the facility will be available until December 31, 2026.

According to details, verification of applicants will be completed through other channels.

The 18-year-old or above married women will have to submit their Nikahnama.

If the father or mother and husband have an identity card, their biometric verification will be mandatory.

Conditions related to the husband will not apply to unmarried women. 

A male aged 24 or over must have an identity card issued by the father or mother and one sibling. Biometric verification of one of the parents will be mandatory.

The applicants should ensure the provision of correct information at the time of registration.

No change in the father’s name, date of birth, and place of birth will be made afterwards.

The NADRA Board also approved the process. The facility is announced as per the terms and conditions of NADRA.
