Pakistan, seven other Muslim countries condemn US envoy’s statement: FO

The foreign ministers (FMs) of eight Muslim countries, including Pakistan, have strongly condemned the statement given by US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, supporting Greater Israel plan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

According to Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi, a joint statement of condemnation was issued by Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Turkey, Qatar and Kuwait.

The foreign ministers of Oman, Bahrain, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine have also condemned the US ambassador's statement. 

Moreover, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) also strongly condemned the statement of the US ambassador, describing it as provocative.

According to the OIC, the US envoy's statement is a violation of international law.

“Such provocative speech will fuel extremism. An independent and sovereign Palestinian state is the right of the Palestinian people,” the OIC said, adding that the Palestinian state should be established according to the 1967 borders and the capital of the Palestinian state should be Jerusalem.

Earlier, US Ambassador to Israel, in an outrageous statement, had said that Israel had the right to occupy the entire region.

Mike Huckabee said in an interview that he had no objection to extensive Israeli control over the Middle East.

He had said it was okay for Israel to occupy areas from the River Nile to the Euphrates River.
