German Ambassador to Pakistan Dr Bernhard Stephen Schlagheck along with First Secretary Christian Boettcher called on ex-PM Ch Shujaat Hussain and Punjab Assembly Speaker Parvez Elahi on Thursday.

The German envoy enquired after Shujaat Hussain and the ex-premier thanked Germany for helping Pakistan in crucial circumstances. They discussed global situation, bilateral trade and steps to cement the two-state bond.

The ambassador reiterated his country’s resolve to continue with providing all-out help to Pakistan. The envoy praised Parvez Elahi for bringing reforms to Punjab during his rule. The World Bank also praised the projects, especially in the areas of education, health and agriculture, he said. The German ambassador presented his book to Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.
