A judge should fear none except Allah and constitution: Justice Isa

Supreme Court Justice Qazi Faiz Isa has said that a judge should be afraid of God only and then constitution believing that a brave judge always decide cases conscientiously, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Justice Isa was addressing a seminar on Bringing Improvement in the Current Judicial System held under the aegis of the Lahore High Court Bar at the Javed Iqbal Auditorium on Saturday.
The Supreme Court made a special appearance in the seminar.
Justice Isa said that a judge should fear none except Allah and the constitution only. He lamented that litigation carried on so long and cases were decided very late.
He was of the view that a brave judge always decides a case honestly and conscientiously.
He also suggested that whenever the parliament passed a bill in the house, it also translate the bill into Urdu.
Justice Isa said that most of the civil cases in Punjab pertained to property disputes. In other countries, cases of property disputes are brought to courts in far less a number as compared to ours, he observed. He said if provinces improved their litigation system, then the number of civil cases would reduce.
A large number of lawyers including LHCB President Muhammad Abbas Maghiana, Finance Secretary Faisal Tauqir Sial, ex-deputy attorney general Raja Abdul Rehman, Lahore Bar President Rao Sami Khan, Hafizabad District Bar President Khalida Shahid, ex-SCBA vice president Tabinda Islam, ex-SCBA secretary Shamimur Rehman and others participated in the seminar.
