Armed men fired shots on a reporter and cameraman of 24NewsHD TV channel in Ferozewala after they exposed a gang involved in blackmailing people through women and lawsuits.

The accused gunmen opened fire on Atif Dogar and his cameraman in Rachna Town area and managed to flee when the police arrived. However, Ferozewala police arrested Tanveer Mallah and a case has been registered against four persons including Asif Mallah.

Correspondent Atif Dogar succeeded in dodging the bullets while cameraman Omar was severely injured in the firing incident and he was later shifted to Mayo Hospital in a critical condition.

The firing incident on the Grand Trunk Road near Rachna Town in district Sheikhupura spread panic among the people. Tanveer Mallah has been nominated in over 20 FIRs including adultery, extortion and robbery.
