Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched Counter-Narcotics Force (CNF) with a focus on ridding the province of the scourge of drugs especially from educational institutions, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.   

Chief Guest CM Maryam Nawaz was presented a guard of honor at the inauguration ceremony held at Police Training College in Lahore on Tuesday. In the inaugural ceremony, Maryam Nawaz inspected the parade.

Deputy Director General Punjab CNF administered the oath to the cadets.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz handed over the flag to the Anti-Narcotics Force official.

Addressing the ceremony, CM Maryam Nawaz said eradicating drugs from Punjab will now be possible soon and the CNF has been activated in all divisions which will also be taken to the district level.

We will selectively remove the poison in the veins of the nation in the streets and neighborhoods, Maryam Nawaz said.

Maryam Nawaz said that crime has decreased in Punjab after the establishment of Counter Crime Department.

She said now the long-standing problems of the province will be solved.

The Chief Minister Punjab presented shields to the high-performing cadets.

DG Punjab CNF awarded Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz with a souvenir.

The new force will have full investigation and arrest powers like the police.

Officers of the force will be able to search and arrest without a warrant and special focus will be on preventing drugs around educational institutions.
