Pakistan Flour Mills Association (PFMA) announced a strike from June 30 to press their demands to take back recently imposed 17 percent choker tax on wheat and also announced to stop the wheat crushing from June 24 (Wednesday), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
PFMA Chairman Asim Raza Ahmed along with other office bearers talking to a press conference in Lahore urged the government to take back the 17 percent choker tax on wheat.
“We were informed via FBR tweet that the choker tax will be taken back but still no notification has been issued in this regard,” he added.
Asim Raza said there would be an increase of Rs 60 per 20 kg wheat bag after the choker tax as flour mills collect Rs 100 in terms of grinding charges.
