New report reveals rise in coronavirus cases in Lahore

The number of confirmed coronavirus patients in Lahore increased to 21 by end of day on Saturday. At least 17 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Lahore on Saturday alone.
According to the latest report of the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department on coronavirus patients, the number of confirmed patients in Punjab reached 152 by 1:45 am on Sunday. So far, coronavirus has been confirmed in 120 pilgrims, one person in Multan and Rawalpindi each, three in Gujrat, two in Jhelum and four in Gujranwala.

However, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar clarified on Saturday evening that the provincial government was not considering a lockdown in the largest province of the country.
Saturday was the worst day so far with regard to emergence of new coronavirus cases in Pakistan as the country saw more than 250 cases in a single day and the tally rose to 750.
As Sindh remained the worst-hit province with the tally rising to 396, the provincial government decided to enforce a lockdown in the entire province to curb the spread of coronavirus. A decision in this regard was taken at a high level meeting after consultations with the civil and military leadership on Saturday. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah is likely to make an announcement with regard to the lockdown duration and other related issues on Sunday (March 22).
Sindh Information Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said in a tweet on Saturday evening that the provincial government was considering tough measures to stop people's movement amid coronavirus outbreak in the country.
