Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority’s Airline Aircraft Accident Investigation Board Tuesday launched an investigation into the emergency landing of the Qatar Airways Doha-bound flight from New Delhi at the Jinnah International Karachi Airport, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A Qatar Airways flight QR579 from India to Qatar made an emergency landing at the Karachi Airport due to indication of smoke in the cargo hold.
The plane was carrying over 100 passengers. Qatar Airways arranged another flight to carry passengers to take them to their destination at Doha Airport.
The smog damaged two bags of the passengers and also partial damage to the container.
Karachi Airport Manager said that CAA has been investigating the matter from all angles. The Air Wardens at Karachi Airport permitted the flight to fly from the airport without carrying passengers.
Earlier, PIA CEO Arshad Malik said that PIA teams had reached the Qatar Airways plane to provide technical assistance and directed teams to remove the technical fault.
The Qatar airline arranged another flight to take the passengers to Doha.
