Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar meets UMT President Ibrahim Murad

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat held an important meeting with University of Management and Technology (UMT) President and former provincial minister Ibrahim Murad in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Education reforms in universities, scholarship and laptop scheme were discussed in the meeting.

Education Minister and Ibrahim Murad also discussed governance issues of public sector universities.

Education Minister appreciated Ibrahim Murad's vision on environment-friendly commitment.

Talking on the occasion, Rana Sikandar Hayat said that Ibrahim Murad's efforts for the development and stability of UMT are worthy of imitation. 

Education Minister and Ibrahim Murad also discussed issues of improvement facing private universities.

Education Minister said funding of universities is being made conditional on performance but steps are being taken to stabilize universities and the measures will also improve the financial health of universities.

Public and private sectors will solve education problems together, Education Minister said.

Former Minister Ibrahim Murad told Rana Sikandar Hayat about UMT's launch on the Meta-verse. 

Including private sector universities in government schemes is a welcome thing, Ibrahim Murad said.

He said special attention will have to be paid to improving the ranking of universities. 

Rana Sikanadar Hayat said after the scholarship, private universities are also considering including in the laptop scheme next year. 

He said we will benefit from Ibrahim Murad's experiences for the improvement of public sector universities. 

The Education Minister also appreciated Ibrahim Murad's "One Student, One Plant" campaign to make UMT environmentally friendly.

Ibrahim Murad presented the Education Minister with a book "Ilm Amal Zindagi" written on the life of Dr. Hassan Sohaib Murad.

The former minister also presented a souvenir to Rana Sikandar Hayat.
