Youm-e-Shahadat-e-Ali observed with religious devotion

The martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (AS) was observed with religious devotion and respect and processions were taken out across the country on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In Lahore, the main procession of the Shabih of Taaziah in connection with the martyrdom of Amir-ul-Momineen Hazrat Ali (AS) was taken out from Mubarak Haveli.

In Karachi, the main procession of Ali (AS) will take out from Nishtar Park and will end at Imambargah Hussainiya Iranian Kharadar.

On the occasion of mourning processions, strict security arrangements have been made across the country.

Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that more than 26,000 police officers and personnel are performing security duties for mourning processions and gatherings. 

Spokesperson Punjab Police said that 17,000 officers and personnel are deployed for the security of 192 mourning processions across the province including Lahore. 

More than 9,000 officers and personnel are deployed for the security of 955 gatherings across the province, spokesperson said.

More than 8,000 personnel are deployed for the security of the central mourning processions and gatherings in Lahore. 

The mourners should be allowed to join the processions only after complete checking through a security mechanism based on a 3-tiered fence. 

About 27 mourning processions of Category-A have been conducted across Punjab including Lahore while 62 gatherings are being held. 

All activities are being monitored from the Central Control and Monitoring Room established at the Central Police Office. 

The control rooms of the Safe Cities Authority and the district administration are continuously monitoring the mourning processions and gatherings Monitoring is ongoing. 

Police should remain on high alert and ensure checking with walk-through gates and metal detectors. 

Lady police personnel have also been deployed for security checking of women mourners. 

Commandos in plain clothes in mourning processions and snipers have been deployed on the roofs of routes. 

Special arrangements should be made to maintain traffic flow through alternative routes across the province. 

All field formations including Dolphin Squad, Peru, Special Branch, CTD should adopt a common strategy in security arrangements for Shahadat Ali Day.

RPOs, CPOs and DPOs should be present in the field to check the security arrangements for processions and gatherings in sensitive districts, IG Punjab directed.

On the other hand, strict security arrangements were also made by Punjab Safe Cities Authority on the occasion of Youm-e-Shahadat-e-Ali (RA).

According to spokesperson, surveillance of Youm-e-Ali (RA) processions continued in Safe City with modern artificial intelligence-based cameras.

Surveillance of all routes of Majlis and azadari processions has been ensured through Safe City cameras. 

Virtual patrolling officers and technical teams are performing duty 24 hours a day at Safe City headquarters. 

Route monitoring is also ongoing with Safe City cameras installed on PRU vehicles.

Representatives of law enforcement agencies including Lahore Police are present at the Safe City Center. 

Latest information regarding traffic routes is being provided live from Radio Safe City FM 88.6. 

Citizens should immediately report any suspicious activity to Emergency Helpline 15. 

In Karachi, strict security arrangements were made for the processions and gatherings held on the occasion of Youm-e-Ali within the limits of various police stations of District Central.

As many as 2313 police personnel were made responsible for the security arrangements on the occasion of Youm-e-Ali by the District Central Police.

Supreme security arrangements were made for the SDPOs, SHOs and other plainclothes personnel to guide the processions throughout the night, intelligence staff, ladies police patrolling and rooftop security arrangements. 

All the processions that were held within the limits of various police stations of District Central have concluded successfully.
