Islamabad's Jinnah Underpass completes in record 35 days

Islamabad has completed yet another infrastructure milestone—the Jinnah Square Murree Road Underpass project—in a record time of just 35 days.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to inaugurate the project tomorrow.

The finishing work is in full swing as final touches are being made to ensure the project is completed by tonight.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the site to inspect the ongoing progress and reviewed the quality of the finishing work personally.

Minister Naqvi issued strict instructions to complete all remaining work by tonight and emphasised that there must be no compromise on quality.

Naqvi also directed authorities to enhance both sides of the underpass with beautiful landscaping and ornamental plantations to beautify the area.

“This project will bring massive relief to commuters travelling towards the motorway and Murree,” said the minister. “Our priority is to provide citizens of Islamabad with a signal-free and smooth travel experience,” he added.

During the visit, Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa briefed the interior minister on the progress. “The asphalt work is already complete, and we aim to finish all remaining work by tonight,” he said.

The site visit was also attended by the Federal Secretary of Interior, DC Islamabad, and other senior members of the Capital Development Authority.
