Drug dealer Pinky to be shifted to Lahore for investigation

A sessions court on Friday granted permission to police to take alleged cocaine maker Anmol, also known as Pinky, from Karachi to Lahore for further investigation.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel report, Lahore's Kot Lakhpat Police secured the warrants from the sessions judge and are expected to leave for Karachi at any time to take custody of the accused.

A narcotics case against Anmol Pinky was registered at Kot Lakhpat Police Station on 6 January 2022. During the investigation, police arrested her brother, Riaz Baloch, who told investigators that Pinky had escaped in a vehicle and was operating the entire narcotics network.

District Public Prosecutor Waqar Abid Bhatti presented letters from the Home Department and Kot Lakhpat Police before the sessions judge seeking permission to transfer the accused to Lahore.

The prosecutor said police intended to interrogate Anmol Pinky in Lahore in an effort to trace and dismantle the alleged drug network linked to the case.

--Court orders FIR against Pinky's husband--

In a separate development, a court ordered the registration of a criminal case against former police inspector Rana Muhammad Akram, who is reported to be the alleged second husband of Anmol Pinky.

The order was issued on an application filed by Yasmeen Tabassum, also known as Nigar Chaudhry, under Sections 22-A and 22-B of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The court directed the relevant station house officer (SHO) to register a case and proceed in accordance with the law.

Rana Akram has been accused of conducting an unlawful raid on a residence and taking away property valued at Rs5.5 million. An inquiry report prepared by the City Police Officer’s (CPO) office had earlier held him responsible for misconduct and administrative irregularities.

A report submitted by the SSP Internal Accountability branch on 5 August 2024 also highlighted serious procedural violations in connection with the raid. However, a subsequent inquiry conducted by the Organised Crime Unit concluded that the allegations could not be substantiated.

Nigar Chaudhry later challenged that inquiry report and filed an appeal. On 21 July 2025, the Additional Inspector General (Inspection) and Additional Inspector General (Complaints) ordered a fresh inquiry into the matter.

The court was informed through the Inspector General of Punjab Police that Rana Muhammad Akram had retired from service on 14 February 2025. However, the court observed that retirement did not extinguish the legal status of the allegations against him.

The judge further ruled that the complaint contained clear elements of cognisable offences and stated that the truth of the allegations could only be determined through a formal investigation following the registration of an FIR.

The court directed the relevant police station to take immediate legal action, register the complaint in accordance with the law and proceed with the investigation.

--Karachi court sends 'Cocaine Queen' to jail--

Separately, a Karachi court has rejected a police request for an extension of the physical remand of alleged cocaine dealer Anmol, also known as Pinky, and ordered that she be sent to jail on judicial remand in 11 cases registered in the city's South District.

The court announced the decision shortly after reserving its verdict on the prosecution's plea for further custody of the accused in cases involving allegations of murder and narcotics offences.

During the proceedings, the investigating officer informed the court that the accused had previously been sent to jail custody in a case registered at Garden Police Station. However, a sessions court later set aside the duty magistrate's order. 

The investigating officer argued that additional interrogation was required to investigate the alleged narcotics network and sought a further period of physical remand.

The court, however, rejected the request and ordered that Anmol Pinky be sent to jail on judicial remand in all the cases under consideration.
