Sindh lacks well-trained police force: IG

Sindh Inspector General (IG) Ghulam Nabi Memon has said that the provincial police are in dire need of a well-trained fleet and resources to cope with the challenges like Kacha lawlessness, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a press conference at Hyderabad Press Club on Tuesday, he confessed that Sindh police did not have trained force due to which there was a loss in the Kacha area.
Ghulam Nabi Memon said that we have a lot of problems in Kacha. “A proposal has been made to upgrade the crowd management unit,” he revealed.
Sindh IG Ghulam Nabi said that a committee is being formed for the protection of journalists.
“Whether it is police or journalism, we have to tighten the circle of those who create distortions,” he hinted.
He further said that crime and terrorism have been prevented by technology to a great extent, due to CCTV cameras in Karachi we have checked criminal activities.
Sindh IG said that the government is working for better policing. To a question, he said that 2,000 personnel had gone to Islamabad and now, all have returned.
He said a proposal of 6,500 crowd management and rapid response force has been made to achieve a peaceful society. “The security unit of foreigners has been upgraded. The grading proposal has also been approved, he added.
