Lahore High Court (LHC) Friday declared the Medical and Dental College Admission Tests (MDCAT) taken for admissions in medical colleges valid according to the law, reported 24NewsHD TV.

The court rejected all the petitions filed against the holding of the MDCAT test.

Justice Jawad Hassan issued an 18-page judgment on the petitions of Rida Fatima and others.

According to the judgment, a newspaper advertisement was published for MDCAT entry test and at that time no student challenged the test. The students challenged the MDCAT entry test after getting failed.

The judgement read that around 190,000 students took the entry test while 60 percent of the students passed the test and the entire examination procedure cannot be annulled due to some students going to court.

The Pakistan Medical Commission had objected to the admissibility of the petitions. Legal Adviser Barrister Chaudhry Muhammad Omar appeared on behalf of the Pakistan Medical Commission. He prayed to the court that the entry tests dates announcement was made as per the rules and different dates were announced for the entry tests to facilitate the students.

The petitioners have challenged the MDCAT exam on the basis of holding it on different dates.
