Special Assistant to Prime Minister Jamshed Iqbal Cheema Friday tendered his resignation to Imran Khan.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Cheema was the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Food Security.
He tendered his resignation to the Prime Minister for contesting by-elections in Lahore constituency NA-133 from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Cheema has also started his election campaign in the city of Lahore and placed hundreds of thousands of his posters.
