KP Assembly passes resolution against Imran’s disqualification

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly Saturday passed a resolution against the disqualification of PTI Chairman Imran Khan by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in the Toshakhana reference.
An emergency session of the KP Assembly was passed after the verdict by the election commission. The resolution was moved by Higher Education Minister Kamran Bangash.
The resolution said the ECP’s decision was based on a biased judgment, against the law and constitution. ECP has malafide intentions which aim to damage the country. It said the Supreme Court of Pakistan has declared Imran Khan as ‘sadiq’ and ‘ameen’ in its verdict and it should take notice of this decision.
It said the current imported government cannot compete against Imran Khan in the political arena. It further said Imran Khan is the most popular leader in the country.
The resolution was approved by the majority while opposition protested for not giving the opportunity to speak on the occasion. The opposition members surrounded the Speaker's dais. The government members raised slogans against the imported government. They kept raising slogans of thieves from both sides in the assembly. PML-N Member of Assembly Shobia Shahid protested by waving a watch in the House.
