♦ Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who returned to Pakistan Saturday after spending four years in self-imposed exile, said he has “no wish for revenge” and stressed on beginning a “new journey” towards growth. “There are some wounds that take time to heal, but I have no wish for revenge. Nawaz Sharif only wishes for the well-being of the people,” he said during an address at his homecoming rally in Lahore. He stressed that state institutions, politics and the pillar of the state needed to work together. “Everyone needs to come together to strengthen the Constitution and remove the disease that affects the country again and again.

♦ Nawaz Sharif underscored the significance of nurturing peaceful relations with neighboring countries and the global community. He emphasized that progress cannot be achieved through conflicts with neighbors and advocated a dignified approach to resolving the longstanding issue of Kashmir. He lamented the separation of East Pakistan, pointing out the missed opportunity of an economic corridor between the eastern and western regions of Pakistan. He implied that the lack of unity and harmony had resulted in this loss. Nawaz Sharif also condemned the oppression faced by the Palestinian people.

♦ In his address, Nawaz Sharif opened his heart to the listeners. He said that he has forgotten his sorrows after seeing the love of the people. He said some wounds in life never heal. The wound of separation from mother and wife will never heal.

♦ Nawaz Sharif received a grand welcome on his arrival at Minar-e-Pakistan. He reached Minar-e-Pakistan by helicopter from Lahore Airport and offered Maghrib prayer with PML-N leaders in Lahore Fort. Emotional scenes were witnessed when he arrived at the venue. Maryam Nawaz was overwhelmed by hugging her father Nawaz Sharif. Nawaz Sharif met all the leaders individually on the stage and hugged them.

♦ PML-N's historical power show at Minar-e-Pakistan with party flags waving everywhere in the venue. Big screens with lights and music were also installed. The spirit of women workers of PML-N was at its peak, who decorated their hands with pictures of Nawaz Sharif and lion prints with henna.

♦ The historic power show of Muslim League (N) at the historic Minare-Pakistan. The venue was completely filled with workers. Flowers were showered on the return of Nawaz Sharif.

♦ The former prime minister returned to Pakistan after four years. After a short stay in Islamabad, Nawaz Sharif arrived in Lahore by special plane through Umeed (Hope) Pakistan. Shehbaz Sharif welcomed his leader. Shahbaz Sharif garlanded Nawaz Sharif.

♦ Nawaz Sharif's special plane landed at the Islamabad airport. Former prime minister met with the legal team in the airport lounge where he signed the court documents. Nawaz Sharif signed the request to restore the appeals against the sentence in the Avenfield and Al-Azizia references. Nawaz Sharif's immigration and biometrics were also done at the airport. The former prime minister was also given a special protocol at the airport in Dubai. The aircraft was given VIP status within Pakistan's borders.

♦ Talking to the media at Dubai Airport, Nawaz Sharif while distinguishing himself and his party from the PTI chairman and his party, former prime minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif said that he is the one who had detonated nukes on May 28, 1998 and not the one who had masterminded attacks on military installations on May 9, 2023. He has claimed he is returning home after getting a ‘clean chit’ in all graft cases. Nawaz has further said it pains him to see the situation the country was going through.

♦ Nawaz Sharif said he and his daughter Maryam Nawaz had attended close to 150 court hearings. “It is unfortunate that despite the fact that Maryam did not hold any public office, still she was declared guilty and put behind bars,” the former prime minister complained. He said fake cases were made against PML-N leaders including Shehbaz Sharif and Rana Sanaullah. He questioned as to where is that Pakistan where medicines were available free of cost. “It is sad that the country instead of developing has gone downhill,” he said, and “This is certainly not the Pakistan which I had left in 2017,” he has said, adding, “In that year, people were getting jobs and were being provided treatment facilities for free.”

♦ Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged the profound significance of the occasion, as people from all walks of life travelled thousands of miles to be part of this historic rally. He commended the unwavering dedication of workers and the overwhelming turnout of the masses. "Nawaz Sharif is not just a name; he is the embodiment of struggle, passion, and unwavering dedication to this nation," declared Shehbaz Sharif, resonating the sentiments of the gathered multitude. Highlighting the historic nature of this rally, Shehbaz Sharif noted, "In the span of 76 years, there has not been a gathering of such magnitude at Minar Pakistan." PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz thanked all the supporters gathered at the Greater Iqbal Park. She said Nawaz suffered and sacrificed for the sake of his country and people.

♦ Thousands of convoys from all over the country reached Lahore to welcome Nawaz Sharif. Workers from Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Jhelum, Sadiqabad, Peshawar, Jahanian, Quetta and Hyderabad reached Lahore in the form of caravans. Large convoys of workers also came to Lahore from Dadu, DI Khan, Peshawar, Muzaffarabad, Gilgit Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

 ♦ The delegation of Women's Chamber of Commerce met with Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Dr. Shehla Javed Akram informed about the performance of Women's Chamber. Punjab Chief Minister assured to solve the problems of Women's Chamber on priority basis

♦ Israel's occupation of Palestine, oppression and persecution of Palestinians continues. The number of martyred Palestinians has reached 4300, including 1500 children with more than 13 thousand injured including women and children. When the fuel ran out, the generators were also shut down, the hospital staff were forced to operate under the light of mobile phone flashlights. Israel also fired missiles at civilian populations, hospitals and places of worship, threatening to attack al-Quds Hospital, gave evacuation order.

♦ The first of 20 trucks carrying humanitarian aid entered the war-torn and besieged Gaza Strip on Saturday through the Rafah border crossing with Egypt.

 ♦ Hamas released two American hostages held in Gaza, offering a "sliver of hope" to desperate families, as Israel pounded the densely-populated territory where millions waited for promised aid deliveries. US President Joe Biden said he was "overjoyed" by the release, which comes days after he visited Israel to express solidarity with the wounded country and press for humanitarian aid into Gaza.
