Youth dies after kite string cuts his throat in Lahore

A 21-year-old youth died after a stray kite string slit his throat in Sodiwal area of Lahore late Tuesday night, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
According to police, Noman Yousuf was returning home from work when a string cut his throat on the way. He was seriously injured and died while being rushed to a hospital.
Police said Noman was working in a pharmaceutical company as a Medical RAP and was returning home after duty.
Family members overwhelmed with grief as soon as Noman's body reached home.
Noman Yousuf, who has a younger brother and two sisters, was the eldest son of the family and the sole breadwinner.
Police also confirmed that last night, kite flying continued in the limits of Mozang police station, Ichhra, Nawan Kot, Samanabad, Sodiwal, Ferozepur Road and other areas.
The police handed over Noman’s body to the heirs after the family refused to file a criminal complaint.
Due to the non-registration of the case, the post-mortem was also not carried out.
Punjab CM take notice
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz while expressing anger over the kite-flying incidents in Lahore, has taken notice of the fatal accident and sought a report from the police.
The chief minister directed the CCPO to take immediate action against those who were responsible for this negligence.
