SECP chairman briefs PM on data leak inquiry report

The Securities Exchange Commission of Pakistan chairman called on Prime Minister Imran Khan and briefed him regarding data leak inquiry report.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan summoned the SECP chairman to brief him about the data leaks inquiry report. The SECP chief met the prime minister and briefed him on the progress in the inquiry report.

Earlier, it was reported that SECP Additional Director (Market Surveillance Department) Irsalan Zafar Hijazi, the son of former SECP chairman Zafar Hejazi had stolen the personnel information of Lt Gen (r) Asim Saleem Bajwa family through Nadra record.

The SECP chairman had established a fact finding committee on this issue. The SECP issued show cause notices to four officials involved in data leak.

A special meeting of SECP board was held on Saturday in which fact finding committee head Sadia Khan presented the data leak report.

Source said that the fact finding committee in its report declared four people responsible for data leak as they alleged committed several mistakes. The committee recommended strict action against them in accordance with the SECP human resource manual.
