Opposition Leader in National Assembly and PML-N party leader Shahbaz Sharif Thursday said, telethons cannot be a substitute for coordinated economic and administrative public policy.

He tweeted: “Clear lack of direction & strategy at govt level. Confusion is manifest in matters related to the lockdown, provision of PPEs to medical staff & determination of interest rate.”

PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif aid Prime Minister Imran Niazi and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar were the actual characters behind the flour and sugar scandals.

The inquiry conducted by the investigation commission, FIA and NAB was an attempt to divert attention and protect the real culprit, said Shehbaz, who added that his party had decided to expose the culprits and reveal the facts.

Addressing the PML-N Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting via video link, he remarked that the prime minister had imposed a lockdown on the National Assembly speaker.

If the cabinet meetings could be held then why no Parliament session is possible, Shehbaz questioned.
