Amir, Faheem involved in heated on-field exchange during PSL 11 clash

A brief but tense confrontation erupted during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 match as Rawalpindiz pacer Mohammad Amir and Islamabad United all-rounder Faheem Ashraf were involved in a heated on-field exchange at the National Bank Stadium on Thursday.

The incident occurred on the third delivery of the 17th over when Amir delivered a sharp slower bouncer. Faheem attempted an upper-cut but managed only a faint edge, with the ball safely collected by wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan behind the stumps.

Following the dismissal, Amir celebrated aggressively and gestured towards Faheem, signalling him to head back to the pavilion. The send-off sparked a reaction from Faheem, who turned back and approached the bowler, pointing his bat in an apparent show of frustration.

The situation threatened to escalate before teammates intervened. Asif Afridi and Saad Masood quickly stepped in to calm tempers and separate the two players, preventing the exchange from turning into a larger altercation.

No further incident was reported, and play resumed shortly after, though the moment added a layer of intensity to the contest.
