Meera’s first reaction after controversy wins hearts

Veteran actress Meera has finally broken her silence after days of intense backlash and industry wide debate, expressing heartfelt gratitude to fans and fellow celebrities who stood by her during the storm.

Took to her Instagram handle, the actress posted a video captioned as:

"Sometimes, respect is not demanded. it is reflected in how you choose to respond. Grateful for the love, the support, and the understanding. This journey has always been about the work, the purpose, and moving forward with dignity. Understanding people is harder than judging them. some things need perspective."

She added, "PSYCHO is not just a film, it’s a reflection of how the mind works, how we see, judge, and understand. The real enemy lives in the mind."

In the video, Meera thanked the entertainment fraternity and the public for their overwhelming support.

She shared that the love she received has made her stronger, acknowledging how the encouragement helped her navigate a difficult moment.

The response comes in the wake of a controversial interview that sparked outrage across social media.

What began as a promotional appearance for her upcoming film Psycho took an uncomfortable turn when she was repeatedly asked intrusive questions about her personal life and past.

The situation escalated when Meera chose to walk out of the interview, igniting a larger conversation about respect, boundaries, and journalistic ethics.

Following the incident, a wave of support poured in from across the industry. Prominent names such as Maya Ali, Zara Noor Abbas, and Saba Faisal publicly defended Meera, criticizing the treatment she received and urging for greater respect toward senior artists.

The controversy has since fueled widespread debate, with many calling for more responsible media practices, especially when engaging with figures who have made long standing contributions to the industry.

Meanwhile, Meera’s upcoming film Psycho starring alongside Shaan Shahid and Sonya Hussyn continues to generate significant buzz. Directed by Shaan Shahid, the psychological thriller is expected to be one of the most talked-about releases of 2026, featuring a strong supporting cast including Javed Sheikh, Shabbir Jan, and Nayyer Ejaz.
