E-challan defaulters face police raids in Punjab
It has been decided to take strict action against owners of vehicles that do not pay e-challans and police will now conduct raids to arrest them, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Lists of vehicles whose owners do not pay e-challans issued by Safe City Authority have been prepared.
Despite multiple challans issued to hundreds of thousands of vehicles and motorcycles in Punjab, e-challan money has not been deposited.
With the help of local police, owners of vehicles that do not pay e-challans should be arrested and e-challans should be deposited.
Safe City Authority will identify vehicles with the help of cameras and inform the local police.
A crackdown against vehicles that do not pay e-challans will be launched in the next few days.
