Polio worker, son injured in attack in Okara

Another polio vaccinator along with his son was critically injured with axe and clubs during an attack in the Gogera Saddr area in Okara on Sunday.
The incident occurred in Gogera Saddr area of Okara where a vaccinator from Basic Health Unit (BHU) Fatehpur, identified as Noor Fateh, and his son were severely tortured. Fateh along with his son Saddam Hussain sustained severe injuries during the attack with axe and clubs. The assailants also tore their clothes. Noor Fateh lost a gold ring and cellphone during the attack.
The injured vaccinator and his son were taken to hospital by Rescue 1122.
The police have though registered a case, the culprits are still at large.
Attacks on polio workers have been a common site in every round against the crippling disease, which have claimed various precious lives besides leaving many others with critical injuries.
