Rallies, protests mark Kunan Poshpura rape anniversary

Rallies and protests Thursday broke out in Kashmir and Islamabad as the anniversary of Kunan Poshpora mass rape incident in 1991 was observed, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Protest demonstrations were held in front of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad to express solidarity with the victims of Kunan Poshpora incident. Protests and Rallies were held in various educational institutions across the capital and Mirpur, Muzaffarabad and Kotli in AJK as well. The students and teachers in the institutes condemned the heinous incident perpetrated by the Indian Army and sloganeered for the freedom of Indian Illegally occupied Jammu Kashmir.

People from every class of the society were seen in the rallies with a fierce passion for the freedom of IIOJK.

Indian army troops committed the heinous crime of gang-raping around 100 women on the unfortunate night of February 23rd 1991 during a siege and search operation in Kunan Poshpora in the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Coward Indian army men were found guilty in impartial investigation of the tragic incident and later the Indian government covered up the heinous act with false charades giving the perpetrators a clean chit. They said the Kashmiri women are actively involved with the freedom movement. To kill the freedom spirit of the oppressed and captivated Kashmiri People, the Indian weaklings in army uniforms used rape as a weapon of war to crush mentally, morally, emotionally and physically the equally involved women fighting for their freedom.

A trend on twitter is going on for condemnation of the incident on its anniversary and many have shared their two cents regarding the Kunan Poshpora mass rape.
