PML-N worker dies allegedly due to lack of ventilator in Rawalpindi hospital

A local leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) reportedly passed away at Holy Family Hospital after an alleged lack of ventilator availability in Rawalpindi, 24NewsHD TV reported on Monday.

According to family members and local party activists, Anjum Iqbal Mughal was rushed to the hospital at around 7:00 am after his condition suddenly deteriorated.

Relatives claim they pleaded with hospital authorities to arrange a ventilator as his health worsened, but none was available at the time.

Party workers alleged that several attempts were made to contact Rawalpindi’s political leadership for assistance; however, they claim their calls went unanswered.

The sources said the longtime political worker struggled for breath as efforts continued to secure emergency support.

Anjum Iqbal Mughal had reportedly been associated with PML-N activities in Rawalpindi for nearly two decades and was known for organizing party gatherings and public meetings in the city.

Hospital authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident.

This sad incident has raised fresh questions about the availability of critical care facilities in public sector hospitals for patients facing medical emergencies.
