Senior US diplomats called on Punjab Assembly Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi and MNA Moonis Elahi at their Lahore residence on Thursday.

The visiting dignitaries included US Embassy Islamabad Minister Consular Political Affairs Terry Steers-Gonzalez, Lahore US Consulate Political and Economic Chief Berry Junker, and Political and Economic Specialist Sadia Sadaf.

The US diplomats exchanged views with the hosts on prevailing political and economic situation of the country.

They also dilated on other matters of mutual interest, besides the regional situation - particularly Pak-India relations and Afghanistan affairs.

Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi said on the occasion that besides the contacts at political and diplomatic level, more exchanges at the sectoral level and people-to-people contacts were needed to further boost the bilateral relations.
