During a telephonic contact between the leaders of Awami National Party and Pakistan People’s Party, it has been decided that the ANP will support PPP’s candidate for Dera Ismail Khan’s mayorship during the second phase of local government elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Reportedly, a telephonic contact was held between PPP leader Nayyar Bukhari and ANP leader Aimal Wali Khan. They exchanged views on the election of mayor in Dera Ismail Khan by the end of March.
Mr Bukhari said that the ANP decided to back PPP candidate Faisal Karim Kundi for the DIK mayorship.
Aimal Wali informed that the ANP would run Kundi’s election campaign openly and its provincial organization would help the PPP candidate.
Bukhari, on behalf of his party, expressed his gratitude to the ANP for extending support to the PPP contestant.
