Pakistan, Somalia vow to boost anti-terrorism cooperation

Interior Minister Mohin Naqvi on Friday held a meeting with his Somali counterpart Ali Yusuf Ali Hosh in Islamabad and discussed a raft of issues with him, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

On arrival, the Somali Interior Minister was warmly received by Mohsin Naqvi at Interior Ministry.

According to details, the meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the two ministries, with discussions on security collaboration, institutional capacity building, and the exchange of expertise in domestic affairs and public safety.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including training, border management, disaster management, anti-terrorism, and extremism.

The Somali Interior Minister expressed commitment to benefit from Pakistan's experiences in the above-mentioned sectors.

Mohsin Naqvi assured the Somali delegation to extend full cooperation in anti-terrorism measures being taken by the Somali government.

The Somali Interior Minister said that Somalia is facing a challenging situation and fighting against terrorism.

He hoped that his visit would play a key role in strengthening relations between the two brotherly countries.

The Somali Interior Minister said that he will deliver an important message from the Prime Minister to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Somali Interior Minister also extended an invitation to Mohsin Naqvi to visit Somalia

Ambassador of Somalia Sheikh Noor Mohammad Hassan Hamza Aden, Deputy Police Chief, and other high-ranking officials from the Somali embassy were present during the meeting.

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhary, Secretary Interior, Additional Secretary Interior, Chief Commissioner and Inspector-General of Police, Director-General of FIA, also present.
