20-year-old killed in Islamabad shooting, suspect arrested

A 20-year-old man was killed in a shooting following a financial dispute in the Dok Maliar area within the jurisdiction of Noon police station, police said.

The victim was identified as Farooq.

According to police, a heated argument over a monetary transaction escalated into a quarrel, during which gunfire was opened.

The suspected attacker, identified as Aftab, was arrested at the scene in an injured condition. Police said the suspect allegedly injured himself with a sharp instrument after the shooting.

The body of the victim and the injured suspect were shifted to the hospital.

Police have launched an investigation and are collecting evidence to establish the circumstances and exact motive behind the killing.
