Chinese traders call on Chaudhry Shujaat

A delegation of Chinese traders, led by the deputy mayor of Hunan province’s Loudi city Yang Wai, met with former prime minister and PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain in Lahore on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Bilateral relations and economic cooperation between Pakistan and China came under discussion at the meeting.  

Speaking on the occasion, Chaudhry Shujaat said that China was Pakistan’s sincere and time-tested friend. “Whether it is a war, an earthquake or flood or any other calamity, China has always stood by Pakistan,” he said, adding that Pakistan was the first country to recognize China.

The PML-Q president said that Pakistan too could develop by following the Chinese model. 

Speaking on the occasion, Wai said that the former prime minister had played a key role in further strengthening economic ties between the two countries.

He expressed the hope that Pak-China ties would strengthen further in the future.
