Man shot dead during jirga in Islamabad

One person was killed due to firing during a jirga, which was held in Jhangi Syedan area in the jurisdiction of Noon police station of Islamabad on Thursday to resolve a family dispute, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Police said that Irfan Awan died on the spot, while the assailants fled from the spot.
Police said they reached the crime scene and shifted the body to a hospital for the post-mortem.
The Force said that both assassins and the victim belonged to the same family.
Elaborating further, it said that jirga was held to solve the dispute over the transaction of Rs2.2 million.
An exchange of hot words took place during the jirga, which prompted one of the parties to open fire.
