The government Tuesday eased the SOPs for the burial of those who died of coronavirus.
Now a person died of coronavirus could be buried as normal and the dead bodies of such deceased persons would also be handed over to the relatives and they could perform the burial rituals as per norm.
Earlier, the persons who die because of coronavirus were being buried in coffins, which were being placed in the grave with the help of ropes. The relatives of the deceased were also kept from the dead body and only a few people were allowed to attend the funeral.
The SOPs will now help the relatives to pay due respect and give a proper send-off to their loved ones who become the victims of the deadly disease. Now the body of the deceased can be taken to the graveyard on shoulders and the relatives can put the body in its final resting place by themselves.
However, all the persons attending the funeral would have to wear personal protective equipment including kit, gloves and masks.
