Anna Camp hits back at critics of 18-year age gap with Jade Whipkey
Actress Anna Camp has responded with love and confidence to criticism surrounding her new relationship with 24-year-old stylist Jade Whipkey, following the couple’s red carpet debut at the Bride Hard premiere last week.
Camp, 42, took to Instagram to clap back at negative comments under a post by LGBTQ+ outlet PinkNews, where some questioned the couple’s 18-year age difference.
“Thought I’d jump on here since I follow @pinknews and just say I’ve dated men exactly my age and Jade is FAR more mature than any of them,” Camp wrote in defense of her partner. “We have more in common than anyone else I’ve ever dated and can literally talk about anything and everything ♥️.”
The Pitch Perfect and True Blood star ended her message on a graceful note, adding: “Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I’m wishing everyone well :) Especially this Pride month.”
Camp and Whipkey first sparked dating rumors in May when Camp reshared a poetic tribute originally posted by Whipkey on Instagram. The caption alongside a cozy restaurant photo read: “Her smile is a poem, her eyes are roses, her laugh is music for dancing.” Camp responded by tagging Whipkey and adding a fiery red heart emoji.
Since then, the couple has been anything but shy about their affection. On June 10, Whipkey gushed over Camp’s Palm Springs Life magazine cover, posting a carousel of images from the launch party, including a sweet caption: “You are the easiest person to celebrate and the sweetest to love ❤️. See you on the cover of @voguemagazine next.” One image even showed Jade sporting a T-shirt printed with photos of Camp — a full-on fan moment turned fashion statement.
Most recently, Camp melted hearts with a romantic Instagram Story on Sunday featuring the duo at the Bride Hard premiere. “When her eyes match your dress,” she captioned the photo, adding a pink heart pierced with an arrow.
