Heightened security prompts FCC, IHC to cancel their cause lists for today

The Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) on Tuesday cancelled hearings of all cases due to tight security in Islamabad’s Red Zone in view of Iranian president’s visit, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The notification issued by the Registrar’s Office read that the cause list had been cancelled due to heightened security and the closure of roads leading to and exiting from the Red Zone, which would create great inconvenience for both lawyers and litigants in reaching the court.

IHC also cancels cause list

Meanwhile, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) too cancelled the cause list, citing security arrangements made in the federal capital on account of the Iranian president’s visit.

However, city’s district courts will remain open today as per routine.
