IG Railways Police to brief NA body on Jaffar Express incident on Tuesday
Inspector-General of Pakistan Railways police will brief National Assembly Standing Committee on Railways about the Jaffar Express incident on March 25, 205, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
During the meeting, the National Assembly Standing Committee on Railways will also be briefed about major projects of Pakistan Railways and the security of trains.
The participants of the meeting will approve different development projects of Pakistan Railways for the next fiscal year. A subcommittee will also submit its report in the meeting.
Earlier, on March 4, 2025, the Standing Committee on Railways held its 7th meeting in the Parliament House, Islamabad, under the chairmanship of Rai Hassan Nawaz Khan, MNA.
The Committee scrutinised the budgetary proposals relating to the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) of the Ministry of Railways and its attached departments for the Financial Year 2025-26 as required under sub-rule (6) of rule 201 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly, 2007.
The Secretary, Ministry of Railways, apprised the Committee that the Ministry demanded 65 billion from the PSDP last year; however, the Finance Division approved 45 billion and then further reduced it to 35 billion.
